Margaret Gretchen Michael, PA-C
Known to all as Gretchen, she joined The Redding Pain Meidine team in 2007. Her move into Pain Medicine was motivated by a desire to make a positive difference in the lives of patients experiencing chronic pain.
Credentials:
- Attended Central Connecticut State University, where she earned a BA in English Literature.
- Attended Western University, where she completed her Physician Assistant studies in 2000
- Worked in the psychiatry field before specializing in Pain Medicine.
Laura Szymanski, MSN, NP-C/PA-C
Laura is a local Redding girl who graduated from Chico State University with honors and a Bachelors of Science in Nursing. Laura is married and has two children.
Credentials:
- Earned the Navy Award for Nursing Excellence
- Is also a Certified Nurse Operating Room ( CNOR), working at both Shasta Regional Medical Center and Apogee Outpatient Surgery Center
- Worked in the emergency room at Mercy Medical Center
- Dual training as a Physician Assistant and Family Nurse Practitioner – University of California, Davis
Stacia Souter, NP
Stacia joined Redding Pain Medicine in 2018 and has been helping pain patients since 1991.
Before she came to Redding Pain Medicine, she had extensive nursing experience with Pain Medicine and Health Optimization including medical weight loss therapy.
She enjoys hiking, kayaking, and other outdoor activities that allow her to fully appreciate God’s gifts. She moved to Redding after high school and calls Redding her home.

- Bachelor of Science in Nursing – California State University, Dominguez Hills
- Master of Science in Nursing – California State University, Sacramento
- Dual training as a Physician Assistant and Family Nurse Practitioner – University of California, Davis

Mandy joined Redding Pain Medicine in 2018 and has dedicated her career to helping medical providers and patients with Medical Billing Services since 2001.
Mandy loves helping patients navigate and resolve the myriad of authorization and medical billing issues.
A Redding resident since 1987, she loves fishing at Hat Creek, camping, and any activity with her family.
